WORLD IS A FAMILY?

Can we consider world as a family?

All citizens as siblings so lovely!

This can only be an impractical dream

As unfulfilled it would seem.

Why would we then have wars

For power or land between nations

Or resources like oil gas or mineral

Likely in future for water as well?

Nations are spending billions

To upgrade their military strengths

Only to safeguard their borders

As per international agreements.

Air Sun's heat light have no borders

They spread across all nations

Equally without any sort of fuss

By their position on earth's surface.

First mentioned in ancient Indian scriptures truly

'Vasudaiva kutumbakam' meaning world as one family

It was adopted as theme in a G20 meeting

Proposing nations to adopt it's meaning.

Hopefully nations will work to assuage

To share the ill effects of climate change

Economic disparities and health disorders

To bring equanimity in different regions.
